In the late 1920's, Newt Scamander, a famous magizoologist arrives at New York for a....strange purpose. Unfortunately for him, The Dark wizard Grindelwald was gaining power there. As he robs a bank by mistake and gets spotted by non-magic person(well done, Newt), He is caught by a former American Auror, Tina Goldstein. And oh, minor detail, all of his magical creatures are set loose and are on a rampage in the city. 

The story also follows Credence, a young man who doesn't realise how much power he has and the destruction he could cause.
As Grindelwald seeks Credence for his potential, Newt, Tina and their......unusual company together must rescue the rogue creatures and unearth Grindelwald's plan, and save New York city from ruin, without exposing the existence of the Wizarding World.

The Fantastic beasts series are not novels, but playscripts by JK Rowling. The events of this series occur years before the original Harry Potter series. The books are also adapted to movies directed by David Yates. Book 3 is unnamed and is set to release on 14th July 2022. Rowling has confirmed that the series will consist of 5 books and movies. There is not much information about the third book, much less the other two books, but Rowling had said 'Answers are Given' when asked to describe the upcoming third book in 3 words. 
JK Rowling also commented in Twitter that she was done writing the script for the movie, and that both the hard-covered script and movie will be released on the 14th of July. Due to the COVID pandemic and Johnny Depp's resignation from the role of Grindelwald, the movie which was supposed to be released on 2020, postponed to 2021, and then again to 2022.

My Comments

I was at first very eager to start this series as I was a big fan of Harry Potter and hoped that the Fantastic Beasts series would dive deeper into the Wizarding World and explore events that we haven't seen yet, and I wasn't disappointed. One of the main mysteries in the Harry Potter was about Dumbledore's history, and in this series, we get to know more about his past and the million dollar question, Who really is Gellert Grindelwald?
Immensely satisfying to read, with twists and turns at every corner, The Fantastic Beasts series is suitable for all ages above 8, and is to be read after the Harry Potter series.
