Camp Half-blood Confidential

To begin with, Camp Half-blood Confidential is a guide. It is also the revised and MUCH better version of Camp Half-blood's orientation film.

Why? you may ask.

THAT, my friends, began on a regular campfire night, when Nico di Angelo unfortunately brought up the topic of the orientation film (and screeched  sang a song which resulted in all the campers getting creeped out). But no one had ever seen this supposed film, which led the campers to fetch the orientation film tape from Chiron's office. (hidden meaning: break into Chiron's office and steal the tape)

Then, the campers settled down to watch the film with popcorn and other essentials, but by the time the film was over, the campers were scarred for life and everyone wanted to bleach their eyes. (A more dramatic account of this traumatizing incident and the identity of the cruel benevolent god responsible for this nasty piece of work  gracious gift is given by the one and only, Percy Jackson. Basically, Camp Half-blood Confidential is a revamp of the orientation film, with more....um, modern elements and interesting interviews with the campers, Camp legends and the answer to vital questions such as, "Do I get to keep the T-shirt?" and "Will I die soon?"

Camp Jupiter Classified : A Probatio's Journal

The story takes place during the February after the war against Gaea. Claudia, a young legacy of Mercury, survives Lupa's training and arrives at Camp Jupiter, where she is placed in the Fourth Cohort as a Probatio. But soon after her arrival, trouble ensues at the Camp and suspicion falls on Claudia. She is, after all, the great-grand daughter of the god of Mischief.

Meanwhile, Claudia receives certain notes and items, and she must find the real culprit behind the problems, to clear her name and save Camp Jupiter, as she strives to discover an ancient secret which might be the key to the camp's safety. 

Camp Jupiter Classified is Claudia's journal, in which she has written about her arrival at the camp and about the events that took place soon after. Claudia's Journal serves as an introduction to Camp Jupiter as well as a lesson that in order to survive, we must always be on our guard. 

My Comments 

Camp Half-blood Confidential and Camp Jupiter Classified are great insights into the ongoing events of both camps. Camp Half-blood Confidential, though it does not serve a great purpose to the main story, is a great novella, with interesting Camp stories and guides and maps. Percy's little footnotes through out the book are entertaining and the different entries contributed by the campers are immensely interesting to read. Camp Jupiter Classified, on the other hand, is more of an example and Claudia's entries are tremendously engrossing and hilarious. It also helps us get to know the ways of Camp Jupiter and its residents more. All in all, both books are extremely fantastic books and a must read for Riordanverse fans.
